When was the last time you were inspired in life? It often seems to come out of nowhere, almost by surprise at times.
For Amber St Peter her inspiration for sharing great vegan food has its roots all the way back to when she was a child, growing up on a farm in Maine. Now, many years later, Amber is in California blogging about vegan food, with a new cookbook coming out later this year and with dreams of sharing her talent with kids.
I've been think a lot lately of my journey...what began 22 years ago as a decision to start eating vegan food has come a long way. I never would have thought I'd be podcasting about it now. Podcasting wasn't even a thing back then...but even the idea of talking about it to thousands of people wasn't in the realm of my thinking. And yet, here I am.
That journey has clearly had it's ups and downs but one thing has remained clear for me....I eat vegan. Period. I've not wavered on that.
I realize that is unique. Many people, maybe even you, have thought about eating vegan food....maybe even thought some day you'd 'go vegan' and give up all animal products. But it takes a certain something to do that doesn't it?
That's what I've been looking at lately. What are those qualities? Why is it that some people know how unhealthy animal products are, they know how much suffering animals are put through, and they connect with the impact it has on the planet, and yet, they aren't able to make that shift to eating vegan meals 100% of the time.
It takes a certain something to make that shift, but I know this....it IS possible. I'm living proof. Any many other people I'm speaking with have made that shift too. But there are certain qualities and traits I've seen that help influence how successful someone can be at making that shift and it's exciting to begin sharing that with you through the podcast.
There's more on the way...keep listening...and stay connected to the blog. I encourage you to sign up on the email list...and if you do so by March 25th you'll also be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a copy of Russell Simmon's book The Happy Vegan or Dr Campbell's book, The Campbell Plan.
