When Moby was a boy he found a box of abandoned kittens while walking by the town dump that were just days old. All but one of the kittens in the box were dead.
Moby and his mother brought the surviving kitten to the vet and even though the odds were against that kitten living they named him Tucker and proceeded to care for this new little being.
In the end Tucker the cat beat the odds. In a unique way, Tucker the cat has saved thousands of lives because Moby had a realization one day when he was patting Tucker that profoundly changed his life.
Moby had what he calls, an ethical synaptic realignment, when it dawned on him Tucker the cat had two eyes and central nervous system and a profoundly rich emotional life. He then connected that any animal with two eyes and a central nervous system must be the same and in that moment he knew he couldn't be the cause of another animal suffering.
Over the past 28 years Moby has been vegan and we explore his story in-depth in today's interview.
I hope you find it as enjoyable as I did.
